From endings to amazing series to the beginning of new one and promising standalones, 2014 promises to be another incredible year for YA (and MG/NA!).  These are the ones that I’m most eagerly waiting for (of course, not including Arianne’s list too!):

10.  Take Me On by Katie McGarry (no cover)

Crash Into You, the last book in the Pushing the Limits series was absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us.

9.   Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater

I adore Stiefvater’s Wolves of Mercy Falls series, and even though I never came to love Isabelle, I’m willing to give her a change (besides I do like Cole!)

10. Goldfish by Kody Keplinger

I have to make a confession here. I have never read a Kody Keplinger book. But because I've heard so many good things about her, and I love the idea of this book - the story a teen dealing with the fallout from her failed suicide attempt and her romance with a boy with secrets of his own - it's definitely one of my most anticipated reads of 2014!

9. Take Me On by Katie McGarry

On the back of her success with the original Pushing the Limits trio - Noah, Beth and Isaiah - Katie McGarry promises yet another brilliant tale of loss, love and triumph worth fighting for Take Me On.

8. The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

For as long as I can remember, Rick Riordan has been one of my auto-buy authors. Percy Jackson is a total classic and as his Heroes of Olympus sequel series comes to a close, I'll be right there along with it - even if its readers started out with it as kids and are finishing it up as adults!

7. The Young Elites by Marie Lu

I fell in love with Marie Lu's Legend trilogy, and as soon as I heard about this series, I was ecstatic! The Young Elites  three rival societies with supernatural powers battling for supremacy. I can't wait to read it.

When I started gathering my answers I found out two things: First, that I'm hopelessly behind in a LOT of series (aka unfinished!), and second, that fortunately I have more 'Best' endings than 'Worst'

BEST

1. Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter series) - I don't have to explain, do I?

2.  Timeless by Gail Carriger (Parasol Protectorate) - This series is steampunk at its best.  I'm very happy with the ending, even if there is wide open for much more and I think I read somewhere that there will be a companion series soon. 

3.  Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky series) - I just finished this one yesterday and this book is AMAZING!  If you haven't read this series, you really should. 

4.  The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson (Fire and Thorns series) - Another beloved series that ended recently.  I'm so happy for Hector and Elisa and their kingdom. An epic ending :)

5.  The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa (Iron Fey series) - A book from Ash's point of view, a quest, and Puck to boot. What else could you ask for?

6.  Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead (Vampire Academy series) - Dimitri, Rose... You get the idea, right?

7.  Return to Paradise by Simone Elkeles (Leaving Paradise series) - This is a duet and it's so good!  I love this series, the ending was perfection!

Worst

8. Gone by Lisa McMann (Wake series) - I really enjoyed the series, up until this book actually.  Janie turned into an indecisive mess and the ending was so open that it drove me crazy.

9. Sever by Lauren DeStefano (The Chemical Garden series) - Honestly, this series redemption is DeStefano's writing.  The magic of Wither was gone in the second book and this one was a hot mess. And everything got fixed and honky dory in the last chapter :(

10. We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han (The Summer series) - What was that? Belly wanting to get married at 18?  Everyone falling in place for the weirdest wedding in history?  And then we get a sort of epilogue for an ending?  What happened in between?!

Why I want to read it: I really enjoyed Han's Summer series and this book sounds funny (not sure Lara would think it is), and endearing.  Also, I cannot resist the cover.

Waiting for You by Shey Stahl - I saw this book while browsing in Amazon and it has amazing reviews there and in Goodreads.  It sounds like a great road-trip book and the cover is so pretty.

Sanctum by Sarah Fine - I saw a review for this book from Ashley at Book Nook and couldn't help but give it a try.

Vain by Amelie Fisher - I think I found out about this book from my dashboard in GoodReads.  It looks awesome!

Rapture by Phillip Simpson - I've been meaning to read this one forever!  Now  I can. 

Painted Blind by Michelle Hansen - I love Greek mythology and this book is a re-telling of Psyche and Cupid's myth.

Crash by Lisa McMann - Love this author and this cover is so pretty, the flames in her eye are shiny!

The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver - I'm probably the only person in the planet that hasn't read the Delirium series! Anyway, this MG book looks so cute, right?

Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian - I have a copy of the book, but picked the audio book from the library

Changeless by Gail Garriger - I read Soulless a while back and checked book #2 of the series in audio format to continue.

Keeping the Castle by Patrice Kindl - It just looks so sweet :)

Top Ten Settings I'd Like to See More Of

Although books are filled with amazing worlds, there are some that I wouldn't want to actually be (or see more of).  For instance, the Nevernever from Julia Kagawa's Iron Fey series is quite dangerous.  Any dystopian world from books like The Hunger Games, Blood Red Road, Divergent, Wither, and Insurgent are not places that I particularly care to learn more of, if you know what I mean. In this category would also fall some fantasy worlds, like the one from Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and other paranormal worlds filled with vampires, werewolves and the like.  Anyway, here's my list :) 

1.  Paris - I went to Paris many years ago, but I went with a tour. You know, the one that stops at the Louvre and Versailles and the important touristy spots.  However, we had one free day to do whatever we wanted, that day we went on the metro, to the Eiffel Tower, eat crepes... I loved that day.  Anyway, I love the Paris in Anna and the French Kiss and Die for Me and I would love to see more.  

2.  The Beach - I know there is a ton of summer reads about the beach and I really enjoy them.  My favorites are Jenny Han's Summer series and Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen.

3.  Joya d'Arena - This is the setting of the Girl of Fire and Thorns series by Rae Carson which I'm a big fan off, I love how diverse it is. 

4.  Hogwarts - No explanation needed, right? 

5.  Abalon - This is the setting of the Wings series by Aprilynne Pike, this fairy world seems like the safest one to visit (others are quite dangerous!)

6.  Regency England - I love historical romances and I would love to see England back then (or around Austen's time).  Favorites are Edenbrooke and the Bridgerton's series by Julia Quinn.

7.  The World of Leviathan - This is not a real world, but Europe as imagined by Scott Westerfeld in his steampunk Leviathan series. What I wouldn't do to seen the message lizards, the walkers, and Bovril.  

8.  New York City - I've been to New York before, but I always feel like I don't get to know it as it's portrait in so many awesome books, like Dash & Lily's Book of Dares or the Blue Blood series by Melissa de la Cruz.

9.  Olympus - It doesn't matter what book about Greek mythology I read, Olympus looks like a great place to explore. Favorites are the Goddess Test series by Aimée Carter and the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.

Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2012

Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian

1.  John Green - How did I survive without reading his books? The Fault in Our Stars is one of my favorite books EVER!!

2.  Jenny Han - I read the Summer series this year because it was profusely recommended to me by a friend, and I loved it.

3.  Sarah Maas - Throne of Glass is one of my favorite reads this year.  Love Celaena!

4.  Wendy Higgins - Another amazing series that started this year, reading Sweet Evil is a must.

5.  Julianne Donaldson - Edenbrook is a very clean historical romance that reminds me so much of Jane Austen's style, I really adore this book.

6.  Brigid Kremmerer - She is the author of the Elemental series (Storm and Spark), I love the Merrick brothers and you will too. Oh, and she's from Maryland too!

7.  Mary Amato - I knew, just by reading the synopsis of Guitar Notes that I would love it. And guess what?  I was not mistaken.

8.  Rae Carson - I finished reading Girl of Fire and Thorns last week and loved it!  I enjoy strong female characters and Elisa really grew on me. 

9.  Tammara Webber  - If you haven't read Easy, you should get it, right now! (I'm not kidding, log into Amazon right now)

10. Katie McGarry - Pushing the Limits is also one of my favorite reads of this year.  Go and check it out :)

Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian - I couldn't resist the cover AND these fabulous authors.

Tilt by Ellen Hopkins - Please don't throw any stones my way, but I have never read one of Ellen Hopkins' books before, therefore I figured that it was time I started.  What do you think?

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn - This is one of by favorite books ever!  I read it from the library and now I have my very own copy :)

Supernaturally by Kiersten White - It's about time for me to get caught up with this series. 

The Diviners by Libba Bray - I've heard wonderful things about this book. Did you read it already?

Miracle by Elizabeth Scott - I didn't have good luck with the last book I read by this author, but I decided to give a try to this one.

Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas - Got this one in audio book to keep me company in my commute. So far, so good.

The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze - The cover is what draw me in.  I hope is good!
