The question is: Do you mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts, backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fanfic?

Yes and no.  I don't mind re-tellings and similar books if it's well done and if I like the original book.  I'm also a fan of fairy tale re-tellings, I love books by Shannon Hale and Alex Flinn, such as Beastly and Goose Girl. I have never read fanfic, so I really don't have an opinion there.

Top Ten Books in my Fall TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

Now that I’m done with school and the credentials I was studying for, I finally have time to read what I want :)  Here are some of the books that I plan to read this fall:

1.  The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore - I loved the first two books of the Lorien Legacies series, I can't wait to read this one.

2.  The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater - I have an ARC and I intent to read it soon (promise).

3.  The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa - I'm so far behind in my reading, that's not even funny!

4.  The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa - What can I say?  I love Ms. Kagawa!

5.  Angel and Nevermore by James Patterson - The last two books of the Maximum Ride series, I NEED to finish it.

6.  Palace of Stone by Shannon Hale - I loved Princess Academy, I have to read this one soon as well. 

7.  Spark*The Elemental Series by Brigid Kemmerer - I read Storm about a month ago and I'm already missing the Merrick brothers :)

8.  Insurgent by Veronica Roth - I know!  Please don't shoot me :(

9.  Seraphina by Rachel Hartman - I've heard only good things about this book, but I haven't read it yet.

10.Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor - The sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone comes out at the beginning of November, and I can't wait either!

I have a TON of books to read, so ten is not nearly enough, but these are probably the Top Ten.

Stacking the Shelves #3

I didn't do a Staking the Shelves last week since I had family coming from Puerto Rico, so these are two weeks worth of books.

Epic Fail by Clair LaZebnik - This book was a bargain in Amazon and I couldn't help but get it.  Have you read it? 

The Vampire's Warden by S.J. Wright - This book was recommended to me in Goodreads (sorry!  I can't remember by whom).

Salt Bride by Lucinda Brant - I saw this historical romance while browsing in Amazon and I liked the description.  A girl needs a little romance once in a while :)

Falling by Shirley Miranda - Another recommendation, I really need to keep track of these...

First Visions  by Heather Topham Wood - This books sounds incredibly good, I found it by browsing reviews from by Goodreads' friends.

Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready - I cannot wait to read the conclusion of the Shade trilogy!

The Irish Duke by Virginia Henley - This romance and the one below were on sale in BAM and as I said, sometimes I need a little romance.

Lord Wraygourne's Betrothed by Ho Beverly - Isn't this a pretty cover?

For Review

Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins - There is something about forbidden love that I really enjoy.

The Goddess Legacy by Aimeé Carter - I love the Goddess Test series and this is a collection of short stories about the characters.  Bound to be good!

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry - This one looks like a great contemporary, and I like this type of books.

Princes Academy: Palace of Stone by Shannon Hale - If you haven't read any of Shannon Hale's book, you are missing out on an amazing storyteller.  I adored the first book and can't wait to read the sequel.

Amber House by Kelly Moore, Tucker Reed and Larkin Reed - Just the fact that the story takes place in Maryland it's enough to make me read it :)

City's Son by Tom Pollok - Doesn't this books loos awesome?

Why I want to read it: I LOVE Princess Academy and I had no idea it was going to have a sequel. I also love Shannon Hale's writing, her stories are so good and her writing is beautiful.
