Feature and Follow Friday is an awesome blog-hop hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read
This week's features are jfeldt @ Progreess and Procrastination and Imogen @ Omnon Books and the questions is:
Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?
I like different books, I don’t think it will any fun (and actually might be quite boring) to read the same kind of book all the time. I like great characters, think Sarah Dessen, Julie Kagawa and Simone Elkeles. I also like a great story, like Divergent and the Hunger Games. I also love romance, like Twilight and Die for Me, and although I don’t read a lot of fantasy, Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I don’t like to read horror/gory books (or watch these movies either!) but I love both The Monstrumologist and the Rot & Ruin because their authors (Yancy and Maberry) are what I refer to as “word crafters”, that is they build the most beautiful, almost lyrical sentences and it is a joy just to open one of their books (like Maggie Stiefvater’s books!)
What do your favorite books share in common?
It sounds like your an eclectic reader, which is great! It's no fun to stick with the same genre or story line over and over. I'm also a huge Sarah Dessen fan!

I haven't read anything written by Sarah Dessen either, but I plan to. And I agree, there has to be some diversity or else it'll just be very boring. : )
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

I haven't read anything by Sarah Dessen but everyone says I should hahah.
ReplyDeleteI like to read all different types of books, too. I love when an author has well developed characters and an interesting plot. Sometimes they create worlds I would like to go to (Harry Potter) or ones I can imagine clearly (The Hunger Games).
