Stacking the Shelves #10

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews in which we feature all the book goodness that we received, borrowed or purchased during the previous week. All links are to Goodreads.

Purchased (or Free) for Kindle

The Agency: A Spy in the House by Y.S. Lee - I've heard good things about this series, so I jumped at the opportunity when when it was available for $2.99.

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake - I can't wait to read this one!

Leif by Abbi Glines (Existence Trilogy #2.5) - I just finished book #2 on this series (review coming soon) and I saw this short story posted from Leif's point of view.  Promises to be interesting.

A Halflings Rescue by Heather Burch (Halflings #1.5) - I also found this short story and I want to read it before book #2.

Purchased (Physical Books)

Crusade by Nancy Holder and Debbie ViguiĆ© - I was curious about this series when I saw the cover for books #2 and 3, so I had to start somewhere, right?  Have you read it?

Review

Guardian by Heather Burch (Halflings #2) - I enjoyed Halflings, I jumped at the opportunity when I say Guardian. Thank you to Zondervan and Eldelweiss.

Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch - I featured this book as my WOW a while ago. Looks like a good fantasy book.

The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron - I have to say that what attracted me to this book was the amazing cover. Thank you to Scholastic and NetGalley for these two titles.

Waiting on Wednesday: Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
in which we have the opportunity to let others know about books that we are eagerly waiting for.

Title: Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch
Published by: Scholastic Press
Release date: October 1st, 2012

On one side of the Rift is a technological paradise without famine or want. On the other side is a mystery.
Sixteen-year-old Glenn Morgan has lived next to the Rift her entire life and has no idea of what might be on the other side of it. Glenn's only friend, Kevin, insists the fence holds back a world of monsters and witchcraft, but magic isn't for Glenn. She has enough problems with reality: Glenn's mother disappeared when she was six, and soon after, she lost her scientist father to his all-consuming work on the mysterious Project. Glenn buries herself in her studies and dreams about the day she can escape. But when her father's work leads to his arrest, he gives Glenn a simple metal bracelet that will send Glenn and Kevin on the run---with only one place to go. With MAGISTERIUM, Jeff Hirsch brings us the story of a complex, captivating world that will leave readers breathless until the very last page.

Why I want to read it:  I absolutely love this cover.  It looks so different like a 'bird man', right?  It sounds like a great mystery / paranormal story.
