I am (as many of you are) a bookish nerd. My family cannot comprehend the amount of
time I spend reading and blogging or the amount of money I spend in books (my
poor hubby keeps trying to figure out where to put all said books). I try to be as organized as possible, but
with the many amazing series making a debut all the time I am at a loss on how
to keep track of them anymore.
This is what I used to do: (I know you’ll be laughing by the
end of this sentence)
I have a little notebook that I carry with me everywhere with a list of all the
series I’m reading, I would add the
books in the series as I learned about them and the expected publication date
by month and year. That way I would know
at a glance, for example, that A Need so Beautiful #2 will be published in June
of this year.
Needless to say, this is hard to keep up! In Goodreads I can keep a list of my “wishlist”
or to-be-read books, but I want to know more than that. How do you keep organized? Do you use Excel, a database, a Calendar, another
website?
I love using FictFact. It also lets me know when new releases are coming out. Check it out!
ReplyDeleteI am checking this website for sure! Thank you :)
DeleteI use a mac, and I have one of the sticky thingies on my homepage full of them, though I think I'm going to have to start using fictfact, too many on the go!

You can actually download your goodreads lists as an excel file, so I keep up with mine that way. I have the book name, author, what I've rated it, what format I have it in, and when I read it or when it is released. :)
ReplyDeleteI have an excel spreadsheet w/3 sections: 1. Books listed by authors name, series name (or Stand Alone), titles, and maked with whether I've completed it, need to order, etc and when the next book is coming out. 2. Books I've pre-ordered with shipping dates 3. Books I need to order & their release dates.
ReplyDeleteIt's the easiest way for me to keep track :-)
I am terrible about being organized. Usually I keep the stacked books somewhere in my room. I think I'm going to try some of these methods though. It might make things easier.
ReplyDeleteI also use FictFact! Or my Kindle, I have a calender app.
ReplyDeleteWhen there's a series that I like or a book I'm anticipating I put the release dates into my phone. I also use stickies on my laptop to keep track of books I want to read that aren't new! I need to check out FictFact! Great discussion (:
ReplyDeleteI just use Goodreads to keep up with upcoming books. I'm pretty easy going that way.
