This week's features are Jennifer @ Reading and Writing Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance and @ The Paperback Princess this week's question is:
Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually
don't like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first
place.
I usually don't read Sci Fi, but some books, like the Across the Universe series by Beth Revis is pretty good.
I'm not too crazy about horror either, but I have to confess to loving two YA horror series: The Mostrumologist by Rick Yancey and the Benny Imura (Rot & Ruin) by Jonathan Mayberry.
What genres have you tried and loved?
Yeah, I don't do horror either and I still haven't tried it. What I did try was YA Contemporary. I used to think that stories that didn't have a paranormal or fantasy element in them would be boring. Let's just say I was SO wrong :D
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read Across the Universe because it got iffy reviews. I feel like I should just try it though. I haven't heard of those horror books before. My F&F

Paranormal Romance
Old follower hopping through ^^
ReplyDeleteI've seen Across the Universe a couple of times now! I think I can't no longer ignore that one.. Normally I wouldn't read it, but it seems popular and it becomes more attractive everything I see it.

I actually love those two genres but I haven't actually read any of those books! I need to get around to it.

My FF
I've been planning to read Across the Universe but I just haven't gotten there yet. I like sci-fi and the romance in it made me a little nervous because I don't typically do romance.
