Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish
This is a hard one! I think that more than words or topics I tend to gravitate to beautiful covers. So...let me take a good look at by bookshelves and my Goodreads 'Read' books and see if I can find any patterns...
1. Books about Vampires - Having such a good experience with series like Twilight, Vampire Academy, Black City, and Southern Vampires I still like books about vampires
2. Dystopian - The Hunger Games opened by eyes to this genre and I cannot get enough of this type of books. It's fascinating to read about all these 'post-apocalyptic' worlds. Some times dystopia is mixed with angels, zombies, monsters and other 'beings'. I love them all!
3. Steampunk - This is another genre that I adore, books like Leviathan, the Parasol Protectorate and The Girl in the Steel Corset are prime examples of this re-imagined past, full of advances and the paranormal.
5. Books about fairies - I love Ash, that's why!
6. Fairy tale retellings - Love them! Well, at least most of them.
7. Books about Mythology - I love mythology and specially Greek myths. I really enjoyed the Percy Jackson series and the Goddess Test series.
8. Books about Angels - I've had luck with these lately. I love Unearthly
9. Fantasy - Love this genre! See some of my favorite above.
10. Paranormal - I know this is very broad, but so is the range of paranormal. From werewolves to elementals, I love them all...

I have yet to read a Steampunk book, but I have one literally sitting on my dining room table for next week!
ReplyDeleteOh my god. You're like a book soulmate for me! Just looking at a few of the titles you have listed, we've read a ton of the same books and obviously like the same genres, lol.

Great list! I've read a lot of the books on it. I never even thought about it, but I like books with couples on the cover too!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT!
I haven't read any steampunk but I really want to at some point. Love Fantasy and Mythology books though.

Fairy tale retellings are on my list too, though I enjoy everything else you've mentioned as well!
ReplyDeleteDystopians are one of my new favorite genres! I don't know when it happened, but it seems like all of the books I'm wanting to read are dystopian themed! great review.
