Feature and Follow Friday

Feature and Follow Friday is an awesome blog-hop hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read

This week's features are @ Mercurial Musings and Laura Ashlee @ Owl Tell You About It and this week we have an activity:

What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

This is a really hard question as I have mixed feelings about it. When I read a book I imagine the setting and the characters in my own particular way and sometimes it is a great disappointment when I see a movie about them.

I love the Harry Potter movies because I feel they are pretty close to the books, but other movies, such as Percy Jackson was a big disappointment for me (I’m not even mentioning Twilight!).  Now, I love movies and I’m very excited about Hunger Games and I probably own every copy of a Pride and Prejudice movie ever made!

Sorry about the rambling, now to answer the question I would love see a movie based on Graceling by Kristin Cashore, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, the Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa (although I’m sure they’ll never get Ash right!), The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder, Blood Red Road by Moira Young, Die for Me by Amy Plum , Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, Divergent by Veronica Roth… I can really keep going, but I’ll refrain myself!

So you see, that even at the risk of becoming upset and disappointed I still will see movies based on books!

How about you?  What movies would you love to see make into a movie or a TV show?

  1. Good post. I always have mixed feelings about books being made into movies. Some just don't hit the mark. Completely out of my usual genre, I have to say that the movie No Country for Old Men almost exactly follows the book, so that was refreshing.

  3. Great answer! I also picked Anna and the French Kiss just because I'd like to see Etienne come to life. Blood Red Road and Divergent are also good choices. Like you say, for the Iron Fey they probably won't get Ash right, or Puck, so I don't even want to wish on it to be made into a TV show or movie :)

  8. I'm not much of a book to movie fan, but can really see how YA books would make the big screen. Great choices. New Follower :D Here's my FF

  9. Lots of great choices!! I'd like to see Die for Me simply because I hated the book. I think it would be much better on the big screen. Thanks for stopping by, following back :)
