Feature and Follow Friday is an awesome blog-hop

This week's features are Aditi, Chrystina and Jess @ Book Liaison and @Kinx's Book Nook this week's question is:
When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to
read? Best books in that genre?
Before I discovered Young Adult (thanks to the Harry Potter and the Twilight series!), I read a lot of historical romance and once in a while I still do. Now, for the most part, I read YA - romance, dystopian, paranormal, mysteries, thrillers, contemporary, fantasy, historical, etc. I do try to keep an open mind and look at the story as a whole, not just its genre.
Genres that I don't particularly love to read are biographies, and horror. When a co-worker suggested me to read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, I was a little hesitant; after all this is sort of an autobiography. Although it took me a while to get invested in the story I ended up loving this book.
What about you? Do you step out of your comfort zone once in a while?
I really like my supernatural/ speculative fiction books, so for me, reading outside my comfort zone means literary, contemporary fiction & historical romance.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the movie but not read the book yet! It's in my Kindle waiting for me! :D

I'm not a fan of biographies either...
ReplyDeleteI guess adult fiction would be where I got the most out of my usual genre...

I don't think I've ever read an autobiography, and very few biographies. New follower!
