15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 5

The 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge is hosted by Good Books and Good Wine

Recommend a Tear Jerker

I am a crier. There, I said it.  I cry while reading books and watching movies alike, even though hubby can't understand the reason.  I have read many books in which I cried (seriously, have you read any Nicholas Sparks book?), but my recommendation is:

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (see my review here) was my pick for best book read in 2012.  It is a story of two teens with cancer that find love, understanding and adventure in each other.  This book is character based and both Hazel and Augustus and unforgettable characters that will steal your heart.  The writing is nothing short of magical... as you can see I can rave about this book for a while.  Just have tissues on hand when you read it.

“I'm in love with you," he said quietly.

"Augustus," I said.

"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

What is your favorite tear jerker?

  1. Yeah, TFIOS is a total tearjerker. I almost chose that one for today, too.

  2. I will be reading TFIOS soon! Not because I am a masochits but because everyone keeps on saying it's a good book, I hope the narration in the audio book is a good one because that is the format I own it in.

  3. This one definitely got me as well. I had to watch like 10 Hank videos to recover. :)

  4. Liza, I'm amazed at how many bloggers have recommended John Green's books and more so The Fault in our stars than anything else. Great choice and thanks for the recommendation :)
