Top Ten Books I Would Love to See as Movie / TV Show

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

I could probably write a really long list about this topic.  Who doesn’t vividly imagine the characters and setting of the books they read?  This is inherent to the act or reading, right?

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson (Movie) – This is one of my favorite books, it’s so intense and heartbreaking and at the same time with all the wonder of the first love. Amazing.

Just One Day / Just One Year by Gayle Forman (Movie) – Although I haven’t read the second book (yet), I’ll go out on a limb here and assume that I will love it as much or more than the first book.  I would love to see a movie from both points of view at the same time.
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater (Movie) – This book was magical to me, so lyrical and beautiful. I would love to see the killer horses and most especially the cliffs, Corr, Sean and Puck.
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (Movie) – A travel book would make an awesome movie, right?
Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa (Movie) – Ash. Grimalkin.  Puck. That’s it.
Fire and Thorns series by Rae Carson (Movie) -  A wonderful fantasy that I imagined so vividly.  I would love to see the Inviernos, Elisa’s crown, Hector, the godstone, Joya de Arena and more.
Parasol Protectorate Series by Gail Carriger (TV Series) – I love this series!  Now, it’s an adult series, so the series would have to be in a premium channel (*hint* HBO, Showtime, etc.), but what an adventure it would be!  Steampunk and paranormal at its best. I can imagine the British accents right now…
Dairy Queen Series by Catherine Gilbert Murdock (TV Series) – This is another series that I love.  D.J.’s voice is so unique and especial and I’m sure that the Schwenk family is up for many more adventures.

Lux Series by Jennifer Armentrout  (TV Series) – I’ve only read the first book so far (*please don’t shoot me*), but I can tell how especial the story and Daemon and Katy are so awesome.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black (TV Series) – This one is probably a stretch, BUT although I haven’t reviewed the book yet (I did read it), I can tell you that Coldtown is the ideal place for a series.  The city is so complicated and the ending of the book was way to open for my taste.
What's in your Top Ten this week?

  1. Parasol Protectorate could be very cool but they'd have to get the casting for Alexia right otherwise it would be a bit of a mess. Here's my T10T

  2. Omg HOW did I miss out The Iron Fey in my list?! I wish I'd remembered that! Sigh. That series would be amazing on screen. And yayy for Obsidian! It's already got film rights, and there's a good chance the movie will happen soon :)
Just One Day is on my TBR list, and I'm looking forward to reading it.
    Awesome list!

  3. Lux series would look great on big screen, and I think Armentrout is selling rights to some company to make a movie out of it. I think there was talk like that going on a month or so. :)

  4. Yes to the Iron Fey series - it made my list too. And, I recently finished The Coldest Girl in Coldtown too, and you're right - with the live feeds and the creepiness of Coldtown, it really would make a great TV show.

  6. I almost added Obsidian to my list but since it is becoming a movie I decided against it! And I have seen Coldtown on a lot of people's list which makes me happy as I'm going to be reading it soon! Great picks!

  8. Amy and Roger would be a fantastic film, I think it would translate so well from book to screen! And Obsidian would make a hilarious TV series. (I've only read the first book as well, so don't worry!) Great list!
