Crash by Lisa McMann, such a
good premise and a beautiful cover.
3. Most surprising (in a good way!) book of
2013?
I would say The
Book Thief by Markus Zusak, it
is so different, so good and the feels were amazing. Another surprising book was Viral
Nation by Shaunta Grimes, I
didn’t think I would love it because the protagonist is autistic and it sounded
like another dystopian, it isn’t though.

Probably the Girl of Fire
and Thorns series by Rae
Carson, such an amazing story! I read

Zusak, or course.

"That's what I said. What do I
need to hear?"
"That tomorrow we'll rule the
Scorpio Races as king and queen of Skarmouth and I'll save the house and you'll
have your stallion. Dove will eat golden oats for the rest of her days and you
will terrorize the races each year and people will come from every island in
the world to find out how it is you get horses to listen to you. The piebald will

I love this survey! I'm going to do it too, it makes me so happy to think of all my favorite books I read this year haha :) I still have to read the Angelfall series though. I read obsidian for the first time this year, and I also loved Sea of Tranquility. Can't wait to read more of Millay's work in the future. And I started the parasol Protectorate series this year too! I read the first two and I'm onto the third now...glad to see you're a fan too!
ReplyDeleteDiamond @ Dee's reads
