It's a hard choice, but I'll choose Written in Red by Anne Bishop. I was unable to put the book down and have since reread it numerous times. It has it all, great characters, wonderful story and that little spark of magic that signifies something special!

ReplyDeleteThe Distance Between Us, was such. Fun contemporary and it really got me more into the genre..so did Sea of Tranquolity. But it's a three way tie with The Beautiful & the Cursed by Page Morgan too. That is the nest gothic ya historical I've ever read! ^_^ great picks for favs btw!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! It was by far the my favorite book that I have ever read. The story was so different, and it stole my heart (I was crying at the end of the book). And in the end, I felt the book changed me in some ways. Thanks for the giveaway!

There are SO many. Sorry I have to give you a list. I can't choose just one. Reboot by Amy Tintera, Pivot Point by Kasie West, Altered by Jennifer Rush, Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins, The Collector & The Liberator by Victoria Scott, Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken, Taken by Erin Bowman, Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, The Program by Suzanne Young. I should probably stop now but this year was good book wise. I loved them because the completely captivated me. When I can't stop reading. When I keep telling myself "One more chapter and I'll go to sleep" and then I end up staying awake all night. That means it a favorite in my book. Thank you so much. ReplyDeleteOhh great question I have to say for me the best book of 2013 that I have read is The Coldest Girl In Coldtown by Holly Black I never read a vampire book quite like this one before and I enjoyed it immensely! thanks for the great giveaway!

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It's a very unique book and it was imposible to put it down!
ReplyDeleteI have read about 120 books this year, and among those 120 I found so many new favorites to add to my list. It would be impossible to pick just one, and it would also be a very long comment to name them all. So I will name my most recent favorite. Haven't even finished it quite yet, but I already know it is at the top, along with the first two books in the trilogy. Long Live the Queen by Kate Locke. The final book in the Immortal Empire series. Awesome!

ReplyDeleteI liked Without Reservations by Alice Steinbach. It showed one that even with old age creeping up on one, you should still do or at least try to do what one wanted to do with one's life.

I had 3 favorites: Dr. Sleep, NOS4A2, and Written in Red. The primary reasons these three were my favorites were the skill of the writing. The skill level of the writing displayed was so far above all the other authors I read, there was no competition. Also, the character development and world-building skills of all three authors are superb.

I enjoyed reading "Wanted" by Kathi Oram Peterson. It was really good. Had some great suspense and a surprise ending.

Finnikin of the Rock. I have loads of favourites this year but this book surprised me in such a good way, I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did and I read it in one sitting during finals and I also immediately jumped into the second book right after, also during finals. I was completely addicted, the characters are fully fleshed out and amazing, even though the plot is rife with suffering and sadness, there's the determination and hope that I admired. I absolutely adored that book. Thank you so much for the giveaway! :D

ReplyDeleteEver After by Kim Harrison was my favorite this year! The Hollows is my favorite current series and Kim almost always seems to take the stakes up a notch with each installment, plus there is always a certain bad boy elf :)
